The Subtle Nerd started with a simple frustration: most nerdy shirts shout. Giant logos, obvious punchlines, a costume more than a shirt.

We make the other kind. Designs subtle enough to wear to work, specific enough that the right person spots it across the room and says "wait, is that a d20 constellation?" That moment is the whole point.

Everything here comes from somewhere real: tabletop nights that ran too long, TBR piles that got out of hand, code that worked on our machine, and the particular joy of being deeply into something. If a design does not pass the "would we wear this" test, it does not go up.

We are based in Amarillo, Texas, and we run small on purpose. Every order is printed when you place it, which means no warehouse full of unsold mediums and no landfill at the end of a season.
